These are the kinds of painting that fills me with joy and also some sadness to paint. The reference for this simple impressionist painting is my daughter when we recently moved here in Edmonton. Knowing this moment in my child's life is something we'll never experience again. As time goes on I know this painting will give me an increasing nostalgic effect. It was just our normal afternoon walk, I took a picture and the sun and shadows on the reference made me very excited to paint this piece. I decided to keep the textures simple unlike my other paintings and wants to keep it simple and impressionistic.
